Schizophrenia Society of Ontario Walk of
Hope 2007
Toronto
 |
This year 10 communities across
Ontario hosted a Walk to raise awareness and funds for SSO's programs and
services. Each year, thousands of people take part in the annual Walk of
Hope. Friends, families and supporters all came together to walk the streets
and show their support. |
On May 27th 2007 members
of the Toronto, EMO, Peel, Hart House and Scarborough Amateur Radio Groups
provided communications and public safety for walkers participating in
the Walk of Hope Toronto. Walkers left Nathan Phillips Square at 13:00
hrs and proceeded up Bay St to College St, along College to Yonge St, down
Yonge to Queen St and back to Nathan Phillips Square.
ARES members were posted along the
route providing reports to Net Control of the walks progress. ARES members
also participated in the walk providing public safety making sure walkers
did not wander into busy traffic lanes. The event was very successful with
no incidents being reported.
